Our Story

Nehemiah Gateway had its beginnings in Albania in the 1990s, when founder Arnold Geiger, a former German federal police officer, was inspired to help the people of that country rebuild and recover from decades of poverty and totalitarianism.

Nehemiah Gateway USA is a member of the Nehemiah Gateway Team. The Nehemiah Gateway Team was established in 2010 to expand from Albania to other areas where the organization’s methodology would be beneficial.

Today, in addition to Albania, Nehemiah Gateway supports projects in Greece, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Cuba, and Israel.

The US office has worked in partnership with Nehemiah Gateway since 2001, when it was founded as Global Business Assist, a 501(c)(3) corporation. The two organizations have always shared a commitment to helping communities help themselves. In 2015, Global Business Assist changed its name to Nehemiah Gateway USA, became an official member of the Nehemiah Gateway Team, and moved its US headquarters to Colorado.
