Help families in need in Uganda!

Jul 26, 2021

Uganda has been in lockdown conditions since early June, when a surge in COVID-19 cases fueled by the highly contagious Delta variant threatened to overwhelm that country's health care system. As of July 26, only about 2.6% of the population has received a dose of vaccine, and broader access to vaccines there is an ongoing, complex problem.

Although the ongoing lockdown has reportedly begun slowing the rate of new infections, it has caused tremendous hardship. With many, many people making a precarious living working from day to day, the situation has turned into a crisis. Many people are hungry, and some have begun to starve.

Nehemiah Gateway University graduate and entrepreneur Sandra Akoli knows many people in her own community who are in extreme need as a result of the lockdown. We are urgently asking for your help on her behalf so that she can help her community get through this crisis. If you are able, please consider making a donation this week. Sandra will use your donation to buy and safely deliver cornmeal, beans, and cooking oil to fifteen families she knows personally, so that they are able to feed their children and stay safe and healthy. Even a small donation will help. DONATE HERE.
